Shira is one of Australia’s leading women’s health and fitness professionals. She is an experienced physiotherapist, fitness leader, presenter and business leader.
She is a sought after women’s health and fitness commentator appearing regularly in the media, including Expert Panelist for Cosmo Pregnancy and writes for various fitness and health magazines, as well as being an alumni ambassador for lululemon athletica. Shira is also a proud ambassador of the Pelvic Floor First campaign developed and run by the Continence Foundation of Australia. Shira also designs and delivers education programs to both physiotherapists and fitness professionals on a regular basis, presenting at conferences and in university settings.

Samara has worked extensively as a Physiotherapist and Pilates instructor in private practice since graduating from Monash University in 2009. Her background and passion for fitness began long before becoming a physiotherapist, teaching group exercise and helping clients achieve their health and fitness goals.
Samara is passionate about women’s health, pregnancy-related disorders and exercise, and pelvic floor related conditions. She has undertaken post-graduate study in this field, completing her Masters in Women’s Health Physiotherapy from Melbourne University. Samara has a dance and gymnastic background, which later translated in to competitive cheerleading!

Elka has worked in private practice in both Melbourne and Hong Kong, treating a diverse client base. She has experience in Clinical Pilates, pre- & post-natal exercise classes, sports injuries and general musculoskeletal conditions.
Elka has worked extensively alongside medical specialists in pre- and post- operative rehabilitation. With a dance background of 14 years, Elka has a keen interest in treating dance related injuries and rehabilitation. She has a strong passion for health and fitness and loves being outdoors. In her spare time she loves to keep fit with Pilates, dancing, yoga and hiking.

Catherine has worked in private practice with a focus on musculoskeletal physiotherapy, clinical Pilates and hydrotherapy. She has experience in acute post-natal management and exercise classes. Catherine is passionate about health, wellbeing and exercise throughout all life stages.
Catherine has a background of high performance sport and research surrounding childhood obesity. Catherine enjoys staying fit and active through tennis, Pilates and teeing off on the golf course.

Liz has extensive experience working with clients across the lifespan to reach their fitness and wellness goals, and has worked the area of women’s health since 2007. Liz has diversified her skill set to include working as a senior physiotherapist at The Royal Children’s Hospital since 2010, specialising in neurosciences in addition to running courses attended by physiotherapists Australia wide and lecturing at The University of Melbourne. She has undertaken additional training in group exercise, indoor cycling and aquatic therapy and has a passion for using Clinical Pilates as a tool in rehabilitation and injury prevention. She is passionate about exercise during pregnancy and the post-natal period, with her own pregnancy and motherhood journey reaffirmed her interest in this area.
Nanny Bell is our in-house child minder who has years of experience in a variety of areas ranging from babies, toddlers, children and adult of all ages. Nanny Bell holds formal qualifications in first-aid, health and fitness.
Bella has various interests such as creating art, keeping fit and going to the movies. Bella also works for herself in health and fitness of all ages and age care rehab. She enjoys children and has grandchildren of her own

Colleen has extensive experience in customer service and office administration within the health industry since 2008. During that time she has worked across public health, fitness and private practice, and brings a wide range of skills to her role at BeActive.
In her time outside of BeActive, Colleen is currently completing her Masters of Clinical Exercise and Rehabilitation, as well as her Clinical Pilates (Level 1 and 2) training. Colleen enjoys cooking, days at the beach, and keeping fit through Pilates and spin classes.
